La R\u00e9publique centrafricaine a mis partiellement en service, le 12 ao\u00fbt 2026, le parc solaire de Saka\u00ef 2, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Bimbo, au sud-ouest de Bangui. Avec un co\u00fbt d'investissement total de 90 millions de dollars am\u00e9ricains, cette infrastructure devrait renforcer la capacit\u00e9 de production d'\u00c9nergie centrafricaine (ENERCA) et am\u00e9liorer l'approvisionnement en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 d'environ 300 000 foyers.<\/p>\n

La centrale \u00e9lectrique a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite par Global South Utility Power Enterprises Investment (GSU), dont le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, Alil Al Shimmar, a assist\u00e9 \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du pr\u00e9sident Faustin-Archange Touad\u00e9ra et de plusieurs responsables centrafricains. Ces travaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s dans le cadre du projet Saka\u00ef 2, qui vise \u00e0 accro\u00eetre rapidement l'approvisionnement en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 de Bangui et de ses environs.<\/p>\n

Toutefois, la mise en service de mercredi ne couvre qu\u2019une partie de la capacit\u00e9 pr\u00e9vue. Sur les 65 MW que le parc solaire devrait produire, 15 MW sont actuellement inject\u00e9s dans le r\u00e9seau d\u2019ENERCA. Selon le ministre par int\u00e9rim charg\u00e9 du D\u00e9veloppement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique et de l\u2019Hydraulique, Rufin Benam Belltoungou, cette premi\u00e8re phase vise \u00e0 alimenter les habitants des quartiers situ\u00e9s dans les 3e et 9e arrondissements de Bangui. L'approvisionnement en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 devrait ensuite s'\u00e9tendre progressivement aux autres districts d'ici d\u00e9cembre prochain.<\/p>\n

Un investissement \u00e9mirati sur un march\u00e9 de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 en difficult\u00e9<\/h3>\n

Cette nouvelle infrastructure apporte une contribution importante \u00e0 un secteur confront\u00e9 depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es \u00e0 de graves difficult\u00e9s d'approvisionnement. Selon les donn\u00e9es de la Banque mondiale, seuls 16,8 % de la population centrafricaine avaient acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 en 2024. Le r\u00e9seau reste fortement concentr\u00e9 autour de Bangui et de Boali, tandis qu'une grande partie du territoire national reste mal desservie ou d\u00e9pourvue d'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Dans ce contexte, la mise en service de nouvelles capacit\u00e9s de production devrait permettre \u00e0 ENERCA de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 la demande croissante. Les donn\u00e9es de l'entreprise font \u00e9galement \u00e9tat d'une hausse r\u00e9cente des ventes d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. ENERCA a vendu 166,9 GWh en 2025, contre 149 GWh en 2024, soit une augmentation de 12 %.<\/p>\n

Toutefois, cette croissance n'a pas suffi \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes d'approvisionnement. Bangui continue de subir des coupures d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, notamment en raison d'une capacit\u00e9 de production limit\u00e9e et de contraintes pesant sur les infrastructures \u00e9lectriques. Avec une capacit\u00e9 pr\u00e9vue de 65 MW, la centrale de Saka\u00ef 2 devrait donc contribuer \u00e0 r\u00e9duire la pression sur le r\u00e9seau et \u00e0 \u00e9tendre progressivement l'acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 dans la capitale.<\/p>\n
